Performance of air is the working title for a piece in development that explores the nature and physics of aerial objects from a choreographic and immersive perspective.
Performance of Air is funded by CNZ
A second development of the work will occur later in 2019.
Performance of air will become a multimedia immersive style performance event that utilises and harnesses the skills of aerial specialists in collaboration with dance artists. New and existing aerial apparatus will be explored with the notion of sustainment of physicality over a period of time. Live music, light and AV will feature strongly in the production design for the work.
The audience will witness aerial choreography from an immersive, atmospheric and social perspective.
Key Creative collaborators for the initial workshop include
Jenny Ritchie (Aerial movement designer and trainer)
Tom Hoyle (Rigger + Photographer)
Imogen Stone (Aerial specialist)
Brydie Colquhoun (Dance artist)
