Created by Dame Suzie Moncrieff in 1987, The World of Wearable Art Awards show (WOW® ) is an international Design Competition where art is designed to be worn on the moving body and exhibited in a large scale theatrical extravaganza each year in Wellington.
Malia is a regular Artistic Director and Choreographer for WOW® she has directed 15 of the WOW® shows since its inception in 1988 these include shows between 2001-2014 and was also Creative Director for the 30th Anniversary season in 2018
Rowan Pierce has designed AV content for WOW for several shows since 2013 and was the AV designer for 2017-2018. Eden Mulholland composed a score in 2018.

WOW® is a renowned international design competition that attracts hundreds of entries from all over the world
Using the human body as a blank canvas designers create works of wearable art to be exhibited in the annual Awards Show. Designs are brought to life in this spectacular stage performance – a world where theatre, fashion and art collide.
The World of WearableArt® competition has encouraged an explosion of creative activity, inspiring designers from a wide range of backgrounds including art, fashion, textile and industrial design, jewellery, architecture, law and home making, to name a few.
WOW® gives entrants freedom of expression without the constraints of commercialism it encourages lateral, original thinking and provides the opportunity to be innovative and inventive.
Malia along with founder Suzie Moncrieff and their design team work collaboratively to design each show including music, costumes, dance, AV and set design. Over 180 performers are involved each year.
Malia also directed the WOW® show at International Arts Festival in 2012
